SPANDA INSTITUTE

Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina

Overview

We are so excited to be bringing our transformative 200-hour “The Flow of Elements” Yoga Teacher training to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina! In collaboration with one of our 200-hour program graduates and 300-hour students, a local teacher Ada Vuk, and support from our fantastic team, we are happy to offer our 8-month hybrid Teacher Training in this beautiful city.

The training is covered over 11 weekends, with five online and six in-person, including the exam weekend, and with alternating weekend meetings between online and in person. The in-person weekends will be held at Fly Yoga Sarajevo studio.

The core teachings of Spanda Vinyasa Yoga School are rooted in Spanda Vinyasa Method. Our Method stems from Hatha Yoga teachings, Classical Yoga philosophy, Tantric teachings, Ayurveda’s understanding of nature, the Five Elements, and contemporary sciences like Anatomy & Physiology, Neurology and Psychology. Our comprehensive Method will give you tools to teach with confidence; a sequencing method that is logical and organic, deep understanding of movement biomechanics as well as the subtle body.

  • Group is limited to 14 students
  • The training will be taught in English and Croatian/Bosnian
  • Registration is already open!

Prerequisites and What to Expect

Aligned with Yoga Alliance standards, we require a minimum of one year of continuous and dedicated yoga practice, which your teacher or teachers can vouch for (via the letter of recommendation), a good understanding of the English language, and a dedication to study and practice. If you cannot provide a letter of recommendation, let us know, and we will schedule an interview.

We know that each person is different and believe no one better can decide if this program is for you but – you. We want to stress that this is a rich and intensive program, both for your body and mind. To get your diploma, you will be required to attend all the hours, pass both written and teaching exams, but we will make sure that you do.

We teach Yoga as a healing discipline, not performance art. We like to say that we train Yoga Teachers, not Yoga Instructors (yes, there is a difference!), so if you would like to become one, we will be happy to have you.

Dates and Schedule

ONLINE SCHEDULE

The online part of the training will be a combination of recorded materials and live sessions via zoom.
Depending on the scheduled program, we will be sending you recorded materials a few weeks before the scheduled weekend, so you can view them at your leisure, prepare your notes and questions. We will then meet via zoom for the led practice, review of the material, and Q&A.
For example, you will receive 8 hours of recorded materials, followed by the group meeting on Saturday and Sunday, for 4 – 5 hours a day (practice, review, Q&A). Our online weekends will cover 90+ hours in 5 weekends + recordings.
NOTE: The online part will be taught in English
